Tour’s going pretty wicked. Now that we’re on the west coast we’re having lots of fun chilling out instead of spending 8hrs per day driving in a tiny car. Hope to see as many of you dudes as possible. Greg out.

the internet downtime has given me the chance to do some housekeeping on our website. we have this weblog now which means that we will probably post more in this space.

stuff that’s upcoming with us! the indie rock rave is happening on oct. 22 at the boat. i am going to be spinning a dancehall set, wolfgang who used to be in nhs will be spinning something, nhs band-buddy jonny dovercourt will be djing also, and nhs will perform as well as KIDS ON TV!!!! my brain just melted. we’re on at 4am and this is going to be our cd release party i.e. our new record will be available there.

ALSO….. the packaging for the Blocks version of our new record Young Adults Against Suicide came back from the printer’s. Kudos to Nick Kennedy for being so clever. This means that the record will very soon be available in the usual places (Rotate This!, Soundscapes, etc…) Non-Torontonians may have to wait a little while for the record to make it to the distributor.

Last night our main nhs hard disk crashed, taking with it seven or eight new tracks that we were working on.

In most mythologies there is a trickster god or demigod. Loki, Lucifer, Nanabush… as well, the trickster’s appearance usually coincides with regeneration or rebirth. WE’RE TAKING THE LOSS OF OUR EP AS A SIGN.

We’ll probably be putting out “We’re not the Only Ones who Think this Way” (probably the best thing we’ve ever written) and “Popular” as a single.

We will write all new lyrics and we will make all new beats for another album even if we liked stuff we had, because the sign was telling us we were on the wrong path.

Most of the band couldn’t make it on tour, so we enlisted the help of the wonderful and talented Whitney Kemble:

She’s been driving and performing with us, which is really nice since usually I have to do all of the driving since nobody else in the band has a license.

On Sunday we loaded into the car and drove five hours or so to Ottawa. Ottawa, incidentally, is the most warped and confusing city to drive in this side of Boston. We got lost about half a dozen times.

Ottawa was a blast, the guys from Daquiri were nice and hospitable as always, we met some nice people, and had fun playing a show at Zaphod Beeblebrox:

Yesterday morning we got in the car and headed for Montreal, which was a short and pleasant trip (unlike the grueling drive we have ahead of us tomorrow; thinking about it is making me cringe). We had some bourgeois soup and headed for Le Salon Vert, where we just about lost our minds with fun-ness:

We like to make fun of Montreal but deep in our Anglo hearts we know that we love our sister city. Get back to you in a few days…

So the tour’s over. We got ourselves a flickr account and put some pictures up. We played some fun shows in Halifax, Charlottetown, and Sackville, stayed in a sweet hotel in Montmagny, QC, and had some seriously fun times with our new band-friends The Maynards and Windom Earle. Thanks to everyone who gave us a place to stay, and thanks x 1000 to Whitney for coming along with us.
